0 Ravens HOLD on

By Shaee Flatt

Just when it seemed like Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers were going to steal a victory last night, the Ravens defense held San Francisco out of the endzone to secure the victory.

No literally, with the 49ers down 34-29 and facing 4th down, Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith wrapped his arms around 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree, and the referees let it go. Sure, Crabtree pushed off towards the end, but he had no choice with Smith wrapped around his body.

Nonetheless, Baltimore proved me wrong. I didn’t think they could hang with San Francisco and they did more than that. They jumped out to a huge 28- 6 lead and it seemed like they could do no wrong. They were marching up and down the field, and not allowing the Niners to get really anything started. They played about as good a first half as you can play.

The second half started great with Jacoby Jones taking the kickoff to the house, but after the power went out it seemed like the Ravens went out. Down 28-6, the 49ers were very close to coming all the way back to win the game, before ultimately losing 34-31. I still think there are at least three or four better teams than Baltimore, but they got it done when it matters most. The best team doesn’t always win the Super Bowl, but it still counts all the same. I never cared who won, I’m just a football fan, who’s happy he got to watch a good game with good people. So hats off to the Ravens, and Kansas City, you are officially on the clock.
